A report in the Independent on the new threats and pressures on green belt land as a result of the demand for housing. This comes from the CPRE, who have produced a range of reports which are of value to geographers over the years.
The Green Belt is described as "the countryside next door".

There are more homes needed at an 'affordable' price, whatever that means, or which are made available under different ownership models.
One issue may be that they are built in areas prone to flooding, or that their construction increases the risk of other properties flooding.
