Daniel Skjeldam is CEO of Hurtigruten.
This is a cruise-ship company that operates in some of the more remote and exotic locations in the world, including the route along the coastline of Norway, as well as Arctic Canada, and the Falkland Islands and Antarctica. The presence and operations of these ships inevitably has an environmental impact on those locations to which they take the tourists.
“We firmly believe that people take care of what they love. When you take people to experience regions like the Arctic, you send back climate ambassadors.”
Read the piece in AFAR magazine for more details on how Hurtigruten plan to reduce their impact when tourism resumes to these regions.
