Earlier in the week, I presented at the 3rd International Congress on Geography Education in Turkey along with Susan Caldis in the same Salon. We have previously exchanged books and ideas and it was a pleasure to share a 'virtual stage' with her.
Earlier 'today' she announced that she has been selected as the new Chair of the Australian Geography Teachers Association (AGTA). This follows her previous position as Chair of the Assocation for New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory. She has held other senior positions and been involved in curriculum projects, and also worked to develop colleagues in Singapore as well.
There have been connections between AGTA and the GA before, with speakers at the respective conferences from the other organisation(s) and also references made in resources to some of the work I carried out while at the GA, for example such as 'a different view'.
Congratulations to Susan.
