The power of Stories

Vicki Philips, Education Manager of National Geographic has written a nice piece on the importance of stories.

At these times, this is important, and also a way to ensure that students are engaged with the big ideas.

During the first lockdown, I certainly retreated into writing as a way to escape from the concerns about what might happen. Vaccinations have been a major success, but now as cases rise, many seem to have thrown caution to the wind, and schools are becoming places of transmission, as young people await their vaccinations. 

As we move towards the greatest existential threat that humanity faces, stories may well be needed to pull us together.
