The QAA is the Quality Assurance Agency. It establishes a core geography entitlement for those studying the subject. These are called 'Subject Benchmark Statements'.
The Agency, and their work is described in my book 'Why Study Geography?' as these statements influence the development of courses at undergraduate level.
There is currently a consultation on the content of the QAA's statements for Geography. It is worth downloading the document to see what is proposed, and consider links with your own teaching.
