GAConf22: Enhancing learning through virtual fieldwork - #15 of many

The latest in a series of posts showcasing sessions which are included in the programme for the GA Conference in April 2022.

This session is being presented by two heavyweights of the awarding body world. Bob Digby's books are doubtless in many of your classrooms too, and you may remember his Presidency during the 2012 Olympic year, when the UK welcomed the world...

The pandemic has challenged the nature of fieldwork in schools and colleges, with many students using data collected virtually as an addition to, or even as a replacement for, data collected in the field.
Virtual reality has also become increasingly effective. I recently did a bit of consultancy for a firm that works in the VR sphere to help them create some authentic 'geographical worlds'.

In this session Bob and Dave will explore different ways of collecting data ‘virtually’, and how to avoid common pitfalls in collecting data remotely.
