The latest in a series of posts showcasing sessions which are included in the programme for the GA Conference in April 2022.
It's always worth seeking out the research papers at the GA Conference to get a fresh perspective on the work that colleagues and practitioners are doing. It is also a good way to get yourself involved in the GA Conference as a presenter, by offering a research paper, or a teacher to teacher session, which are shorter than the main sessions. These are now included in with the main sessions rather than taking place in the breaks.
The study explores rural key stage 2 pupils’ conception of the everyday geography of their local place and space. They used their embodied senses to construct their perceptions of their sense of place and then creatively represented their findings using multimodal means to record noteworthy features. The analysis examines the pupils’ understanding and relationship with their everyday culture and environment.
