This is another one of those sessions that I was expecting to see being offered around the theme of exploring the hidden geographies of everyday phenomena. With Storm Eunice threatening wind gusts approaching 100mph this is certainly a relevant topic.

For everyone on the planet, the weather is an inescapable everyday experience. It is arguably the most accessible, observable geographical phenomenon.
It’s often cited as ‘Britain’s favourite subject’, but is that true for geography teachers as well? This session will explore our ‘national obsession’ with reference to atmospheric teaching resources including GIS and crowdsourced data such as BBC Weather Watchers.
