This session explores the use of maps and lidar imagery to introduce students to a sense of the past in the everyday.
I was pleased to be able to contribute some maps from my own school by asking my colleagues to work with some of our younger pupils. The lockdown has of course changed everyone's relationship to their local area.

It takes the theme of ‘scarification’ – the gouges, gashes, grooves and hollows made by generations of humans, from quarries to driveways, to explore sense of place and the taskscapes of the past in their locality.
