GAConf22: Exploring geographical concepts by bike - #100 of many

The latest in a series of posts showcasing sessions which are included in the programme for the GA Conference in April 2022.

The hidden geography of bikes acts as a perfect vehicle to teach concepts within trade of deindustrialisation, specialisation and the importance of global trade routes. 

This session will tour the scheme of work using a bicycle as the focal point, exploring the value of objects in teaching abstract ideas and suggestions for how to tell their story.

There's an interesting link with a former GA President. In 1919, the President was Professor Grenville Cole.

He was also known as the "cycling geologist"... some years ago we scoped out the idea of a cycling fieldtrip.
