GAConf22: Finding the rainbow in the geography curriculum - #139 of many

The final in a series of posts showcasing sessions which are included in the programme for the GA Conference in April 2022.

Finding the rainbow in the geography curriculum

Finding the rainbow in the geography curriculum’ is a research project addressing the heteronormative narrative and LGBTQ+ inclusivity within our secondary geography classrooms and curriculum. Disrupting the narrative will reduce bullying and increase academic achievement.

Geography represents people and place, and we are doing our students a disservice if we are not portraying the diverse world that we live in.

Alice Hoy, Geography Teacher (ECT)

It's fantastic to see Alice, an ECT teacher, presenting here at the conference, along with all the other first time presenters.
