The new Geography Subject Benchmark Statement for Geography was released at the end of March 2022.
These have been updated to reflect the world we now find ourselves in - 'post COVID' and facing increasing challenges, particularly around food and energy prices currently for many.
This informs the content of academic degree courses and is worth reading to see what expectations there are of those who are ready to start these courses. What knowledge would it be useful for them to have been exposed to before their course?

Fieldwork is integral to all Geography courses. It provides geographers with a unique opportunity for experiential active learning that inspires students' practical engagement with the subject. It reflects that real-world learning and context-based applied learning is fundamental to understanding, and changing, our world.
