National Fieldwork Week Ideas #32: Twinkl and Geography Fieldwork Unlocked

Geography Fieldwork Unlocked is a book that was sent to me in a book exchange with Susan Caldis from Australia.

It's written by Grant Kleeman and contains a range of ideas for planning and exploring fieldwork.

It's not easily available in the UK, but a reminder that geography fieldwork looks different in different countries.

There are some familiar contexts such as liveability in urban areas and physical environments. 

There are also some unfamiliar ones such as wildfires which could potentially be adapted - particularly in those parts of the country which have had a wildfire. 

There's a section on tools and skills, which include using apps and drones to collect data. Urban consolidation, land degradation and homelessness are other contexts for fieldwork which are covered here. The homelessness one explores the methodology that might be used to explore this sensitive issue, by considering the evidence for homelessness in an urban area.
