This area of Norwich has been run down for as long as I can remember and the plans for its redevelopment have rumbled on for years. It's the area where I generally park my car when visiting the city as it's cheaper to park there, and you pass a good range of shops on the walk into the city via the historic Elm Hill.
A recent proposal included a high rise residential tower which was felt to be at odds with other developments and also competing with the wonderful spire of Norwich Cathedral. This did not gain immediate support.
A new proposal was launched last week by Save Britain's Heritage.
It includes more low rise development. This is a local issue which may be worth exploring by local schools.
