I pass through King's Cross station in London with some regularity - probably every three weeks or so during the year (it used to be a lot more)
The area immediately outside the station has changed substantially and would make a very good location for a visit for schools who sit on the lines heading into that station (or indeed St. Pancras or Euston)

Of course, old maps and Google Street view roll back can also be useful secondary sources for NEAs. There are plenty of people to speak to: workers, commuters, locals and tourists, as well as construction workers. I reckon anyone within reasonable day return cost and distance of King's Cross/St. Pancras
