Whiter than white?

An interesting story which has a link with the climate emergency.

A paint is being developed which is the whitest ever white paint.

It reflects 95.5% of all light apparently and was developed by Purdue University.

This could be used to paint on roofs and other surfaces which would mean they would reflect back more heat, particularly in urban areas where life may get rather difficult in the next few years and decades.

The issue is that in order to make the paint, there need to be some resources mined which may end up creating more greenhouse gas emissions, and obviously have other implications for the environment.
