In March 2021, TESCO launched a campaign to say that they would start collecting soft plastics e.g. bread wrappers in stores and recycle them. Other retailers also offer similar facilities to customers and others.
This Bloomberg City Lab piece describes an investigation following up on some of that soft plastic and finding that when it was handed in, in good faith, it didn't necessarily end up being recycled after all.
It follows the journeys made by some products.
