For my whole life, I have had coins and bank notes with the Queen's head on, as have the vast majority of the UK's population.
We saw earlier today the first designs for new coins with the head of King Charles III.
These are not all going to be replaced immediately, and it will take a rolling programme to slowly replace the coins and notes with the Queen on to those featuring the King.
The New York Times had a useful piece on the changes that will be needed in this and other areas of the country. These will result in small quotidian changes to our routines, and the small images that are part of our consciousness.
