Bubbles (bursting)

The FT published an article a couple of weeks ago which would be of particular interest to those exploring inequalities, and the general state of the economy at the moment.

I've been teaching about Factfulness and using the Gapminder Foundation's tools, which include bubbles to represent each country, which move around over time as a result of changes in the income of its population and the life expectancy (although other variables can also be selected).

The bubbles in the Gapminder tools are positioned on the basis of GDP and Life Expectancy.

This article explains how the relative position of the bubble can't be taken at face value.
