So goes the title of this fairly new Conversation blog post by Sophie Day.
In December 2013, I made my way around the Norfolk coast in the wake of another storm surge which caused flooding in some communities around the Norfolk coast and the loss of houses in the dunes near Hemsby.
Some photos I took can be seen in this Flickr album.
Cromer Pier was damaged.
This image shows the demolition in progress on Briony Nierop-Reading's home in Beach Road, Happisburgh.
Next year sees the 70th anniversary of the East Coast floods of 1953, and I am working on some thoughts for resources which consider the changing nature of coastal defences since then and how coastal communities continue to adapt to the impacts of erosion.
