I spent some of the last week of half term making postcards for COP27 as part of Oxfam GB's Social Justice campaign.
They are heading there with the Oxfam delegates.
The conference is being held in Egypt at the resort of Sharm-el-Sheikh.
This is not the easiest location to get to in any sort of sustainable way, and with over 30 000 delegates and other attendees this is going to have a huge carbon footprint. We discussed whether this was the best location, and also whether Coca Cola are the best sponsorship partner for Egypt to have accepted. It is possible to drive from Eilat, but most delegates are likely to fly direct.
I've also been writing something for a journal which goes out to Independent schools on the climate change elements of our curriculum at school.
I've also been working on a one-off lesson to sit around some Year 7 assessments we are doing next week.
