Placename Heatmap

One of our newest #data #projects is the Placename heatmap.

You can display placenames with #Viking endings, and generate a map pretty similar to where they lived 1000 years ago.

Choose an operation and enter your chosen text. E.g. here are the places whose names start with Little ... including some close to home such as Little Snoring.

Here's a heat map for all the places that include 'Alan' in them....

Worth a play I think, especially with younger students exploring place name meanings perhaps....
