Crossing the Line

I had an idea for an activity involving Ordnance Survey maps recently.

Take a map of the local area. A Digimap for Schools subscription would provide a good basis for this, or perhaps a paper map.

Find a grid line where it crosses the landscape near to your school.

Attempt to walk along the line in the 'real world'.

Virtually, see what the line crosses.

One crosses the corner of our school field, for example...
