GA Conference 2023 #8: GA Honorary Memberships

Two colleagues received the GA's highest honour that the GA gives: Honorary Membership on the first day of the conference.

Mel Norman has been the Secretary of Education Group for many years until she stepped down recently, and also worked as the Editor of Teaching Geography. She has also worked in various other roles and supported many teachers over the years in her role as a teacher educator. She is also deeply involved in the organisation of the Charney Manor Primary Geography conference.

Bob Digby is stepping down from the Honorary Treasurer post he has held for several years. All geography teachers will know Bob. He was GA President in 2012, the year of the London Olympics that he wrote about so much, and led tours of the site for years in the run up to the games. He has written and edited numerous textbook and worked as an examiner, and provided very many CPD sessions for the GA.
