I've been reading about the possibility of this, which makes perfect sense to me, for some decades, and there is now further evidence that the addition of fresh water into the ocean and rising temperatures generally will disrupt the well-established ocean conveyor / currents which transfer heat from the equator to the poles, and return cold water.
This is not good news....
