I'm not going to be doing that just yet, but it seems a growing number of colleagues are, and particularly those new to the profession. This is concerning, although for others it may well prove to be an opportunity.

Earlier this week, I had the privilege of speaking to this year's cohort of PGCE Geographers at University College London's Institute of Education. Next week I shall be speaking to those finishing their course at Homerton College, University of Cambridge - I've been connected with that place and course for over 20 years and it's always a pleasure to speak to the trainee teachers. I hope that they will stay in teaching for a good long time.
