Which Which? group are you?

We are in straitened financial times for many, with rising interest rates, energy and food prices and wages not keeping pace with the cost of living increases.

Which? - the consumer magazine - has come up with six groups that people can be categorised into, based on a survey they carried out.

They are:

Drained and desperate

Anxious and at risk

Cut off by cutbacks

Fretting about the future

Looking out for loved ones

Affluent and apathetic

Which one do you think you fall into? How about the students that you teach if you are a teacher?

This is a similar demographic labelling to other schemes which I have blogged about previously with respect to changes in cities over time, such as ACORN CACI classification which places all households into one of 18 groups.

This is called 'demographic segmentation' and is also used for marketing of products and services e.g. I get quite a few bits of junk email selling 'Over 50's funeral plans' and similar options...
