Today is the last day of my stint on the GA Presidential cycle. I was the last person to have the four year cycle, as the GA moved towards a model of having a Chair of Trustees: removing one of the roles of the President so they could concentrate on being more 'Presidential'. This meant there would be no more Junior Vice Presidents. I got to keep the badge...
Tomorrow, Denise Freeman: a teacher from East London will take over from Professor Alastair Owens as GA President. A female teacher President is a rare event for the Association, although Denise will also be succeeded by Hina Robinson.
Keep an eye out for your chance to put yourself forward as GA President as well.
