I recently went to see Oppenheimer on BFI IMAX. I recommend it very much. Much has been written about the film and its treatment of the story, and of what it omits as well as includes.
A key scene in the film shows the build up to the detonation of the test bomb called 'Gadget' at Los Alamos: codenamed Trinity.
It is possible to visit the site, but only on certain open days, which are twice a year.
I would like to visit the site, but would imagine that the site will now be particularly busy for some years to come. It's part of a range of sites with links back to the period of nuclear testing.

Spoiler alert
It's interesting and not surprising that the treatment of the link with Japan and the cities that were bombed means that the film has not yet been released there.
