An interesting story via David Storey.
One of the landmarks of the paths running along the banks of the Seine in Paris are the book stalls selling second hand books and prints. There are a few similar stalls close to the BFI and National Theatre in London, but nothing on the scale of the Parisian 'bouqinistes'.
There are suggestions that they are going to be forced to move due to the preparations for various Olympics events which are based around the river, including the opening ceremony and some of the events - including the swimming if the river can be cleaned up in time. The bouqinistes are standing their ground... for now...
