Mont Blanc is shrinking

A good piece from Peter Beaumont explores the changing geography of Europe's highest mountain, and one I have seen, but not managed to climb in the years when that was possible.

The height of mountains is always something that needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. Many of them have gained height as a result of accumulations of snow and ice. This is now melting away fast, and adding to the instability of what are often very precarious summits.
