I saw the film at the BFI IMAX in London. This has the largest cinema screen in the UK and also shows the film in its proper aspect ratio and from a 70mm print - one of only 30 apparently.
Tourism near to the area has always taken place to some extent, with Las Vegas being known as 'Atomic City'.
This was a theme touched on in Wes Anderson's film 'Asteroid City'
