Blogging and GeoBlogs

Despite being at it for over 20 years now, a lot of people may not be aware of more of the geo(graphical) blogs that I write than this one. I've actually written quite a few more than these... but these are the ones I maintain the most, many of them on specific themes. You can see a bigger list from my Blogger profile - although I also have a few Wordpress ones as well. They represent millions of words written over the last two decades.

My first was linked to the GeoBlogs project - a sort of pun on 'Joe Bloggs'...

This was awarded an RGS-IBG Innovative Geography Teaching Grant in 2003-4. I also wrote an article for Teaching Geography about the project, which was published in the Autumn 2004 issue. One of my first published pieces. I've had a few more of those awards since for other projects.

Some of them were 365 projects which persisted. I had a blog for my Presidential year called Quotidian Geographies, and there are over 500 books in my GeoLibrary. My interest in film is well catered for, and there's also links to books I've written and particular exam specifications. You can also see how I'm gearing up for the forthcoming GCSE Natural History (of those just under 300 posts have been finalised - so there's plenty more still to come). My adventures guiding schools for Rayburn Tours in Iceland are also well covered.

There's one blog that's obviously had more attention paid to it though as you can tell... this one of course... although my old GeographyPages website had even more page views than that back in the day when there was less competition.

Here are some links to them too - check them out... There might be something there of interest.

Finally, there's the blog which shares information on my teaching. This has had over 180 000 views as well, over the 11 years it's been running...
