Different countries are making different efforts to prepare for the summer heat to come across Europe, and which has already reached places all over the globe. Some parts of the SE of England met the criteria today: a minumum of three days where temperatures cross heatwave thresholds (which have been raised slowly over the decades).
MeteoSwiss started to add Heat Wave Danger levels to their forecasts some time ago.
Other places have other preparations.The Home Office has also got a number of groups who have been planning for wider impacts on society of extreme heat that is becoming more common.
