'Sunken Cities'
is the latest book by Gareth Rees. It explores locations where there are buildings that have been submerged for various reasons.

It's an intriguing and fascinating read.

There are a number of locations which are of particular interest to me.

Growing up, we used to go to the Peak District frequently at weekends, including trips to Ladybower and Howden, where there were reservoirs, and dams - one of which was used for training by the Dambusters Squadron (this event is still commemorated). In 1976, and in other dry and hot summers, the levels of the reservoir dropped to the point where the streets of the sunken villages were revealed. In one year, the reservoir dried up so much that were able to cross from one side to the other.
