We got the bus back to the city centre and it was out for the Conference dinner which was provided for those who had presented. Some typical German fare of schnitzels and sauerkraut.
We then had a wander and the city was busy. Down to the Haxenhaus, where we had visited previously in 2018. It seemed to have changed quite a lot in the six years since we last visited. The bar has a flood marker in it which shows the level the water reached on the Rhine in 1995, but the place has flooded several times and there are lots of pictures on the wall of previous flooding...
We decided on a metre of Kölsch - I've previously blogged about this local beer. It's really only about a pint each, but is fun when it arrives.
The following day it was out to make our way home after a sunny wander along the Rhine. Some flew, but I took DBahn and then Eurostar back to London.
