A piece on the BBC News over in November 2024 looked at the continuing discussions over the 40th anniversary of Band Aid's charity single: "Do they know it's Christmas". As Christmas came close, the song began to be played again, an annual reminder of how bad it is.
A whole range of media pieces in numerous newspapers and magazines followed, sharing opposing views on whether the song and campaign did more harm than good overall.
