For my latest birthday (I stopped counting when I get to 60), my wife knew of my love for the detectorists, and Lance and Andy's adventures, which were the focus for Landscapes of Detectorists book from uniformbooks.
I also went to see Mackenzie Crook at the Cambridge Union a few months ago, and he talked about his interest in the activity and how it became the focus for the series that he wrote.
So, this was my gift.
I've joined a few groups and downloaded a few books and have been invited to detect on some local farmland, so here's hoping that I find a few golden torcs...
