The Chronic Risks Analysis (CRA) is the UK Government’s first bespoke risk assessment for medium to long term risks. It complements the National Risk Register (NRR), which focuses on the UK’s most serious acute risks.

The 26 chronic risks identified by the UK Government cover seven themes, spanning across Security, Technology and Cybersecurity, Geopolitical, Environmental, Societal, Biosecurity and Economic issues.

As one might expect, there is a great deal of geography in these risks.

They obviously include elements of the Climate Breakdown and how they might impact on society e.g. food supply disruption, water shortages etc.

We must remember that another pandemic is not impossible - and I doubt that even after the recent experiences that are etched in everybody's minds, we are probably woefully underprepared if another one was to start tomorrow.

Plus we have some dangerous people in positions of great power.
