Thoughtful Thursdays #2: Iceland and other fieldwork

Welcome to the 2nd of my Thoughtful Thursdays.

These started last week.

What am I thinking about today?

Here's what I've been thinking about today.

Firstly, I've been thinking about Iceland. I have normally been heading there in October for the past few years, working as a Field Studies Tutor for Rayburn Tours, but I'm not going this year, which is a shame.
My next trip is in March 2026.
I even have a dedicated Iceland blog for my trips there. I also have a large collection of Iceland-related books: over 50 and counting.

As a Field Studies Tutor we are armed with notes to help us ensure that we are able to properly interpret the landscape that we are travelling to and need to be ready for questions at any time... we always keep those updated and I have spent some time over the last few years working on the outline of a book to support teachers with a visit to Iceland - whether before, during or after the trip.
I spent some time working on that today.
Thinking of a few possible publishing options.

I've also been thinking about a fieldtrip I'm helping to lead tomorrow and keeping an eye on the weather. I'm off to Hunstanton with 45 Year 4s.
Wish me luck!
