New in my GeoLibrary is the book by Kate Marvel called 'Human Nature'.
Kate is a scientist at Columbia University. She uses computer models and satellite observations to monitor and explain the changes happening around us.
Her work has suggested that human activities are already affecting global rainfall and cloud patterns. Marvel is committed to sharing the joy and beauty of science with wider audiences.
If you want to know more about the book and her thoughts on ways to consider Climate Change, Kate has recorded a TED Podcast. This was released earlier this week.
In the book she considers nine emotions that we might have when considering the scale of the problem that climate change poses to humanity.
These are nine chapters corresponding to nine different emotions. The book's introduction sets the scene beautifully.
I will post a review on the GeoLibrary blog once I've had a chance to read it.
The ideas will no doubt influence the thinking around the EMOGI project I'm part of as well.
