I've been referencing this excellent site from New Zealand.
It includes succinct details of the various hazards that volcanoes can produce, as well as some guidance on keeping people safe in the areas around some of the active volcanoes in Tongariro National Park.
There are 8 active volcanoes in Aotearoa New Zealand.
