Spud I like...

Besides being unique to Jersey, the Jersey Royal carries two protected designations ‘Designated Origin UK Protected’ and ‘Geographical Indication UK Protected’

This, in addition to Jersey’s unique growing conditions, make these potatoes special... and perhaps the most geographical potato.

They are also one of my favourite things to eat and I will have them every day they are available throughout the season...

This Christmas they are also offering a chance to adopt a row and support a Jersey-based Charity providing support for children.

I've signed up to adopt a row.

Jersey Royals have been grown on Jersey for over 140 years. Today there are approximately 20 island farmers who grow Jersey Royals, many of whom grow potatoes and no other crops. They are grown in a special way on steep slopes.

By adopting a row I am supporting a local children’s charity, and I will also receive:

  • A beautifully presented gift pack including a welcome letter, personalised certificate confirming your row and Jersey Royal recipe cards

  • A personalised marker in the field to mark your row

  • Exclusive updates and videos from planting through to harvest

  • And the best bit….10kg of freshly harvested Jersey Royals delivered to your door in April, with sharing bags provided for you to fill and gift to friends and family.
