At the GA Conference 2026, the GA trialled a National Geography Olympiad.
The GA tested a 45-minute 60-question ‘proof of concept’ Olympiad trial with 300 students in autumn 2025.
They collated extensive feedback from the students who took part in the trial and the teachers who helped facilitate it. This has helped shape the product for 2026–27.
This second trial consists of 10 sample questions. Please have a go at using the quiz and send us any feedback in the short form at the bottom of this page.
When is the National Geography Olympiad?
The first Olympiad will be held during a special fortnight: Monday 9 November – Friday 20 November 2026. It will be free to enter.
I had a go at the trial. There are some good questions there... I got 10/10 of course :)
