Worldy Wednesdays #67: Feeling hot

Welcome to another Worldly Wednesday.

Heat was there from the start of the day... around 24 even at 8am.

I started by posting Substack newsletter #77. You can subscribe to receive them into your email each week.

I headed off to Cambridge University to present to the PGCE Geography cohort as I have every year for over 20 years, possibly even more. I used to go when I was still at KES in King's Lynn, so that has to be around 2004 or so... I was speaking about ideas for developing fieldwork, including using some ideas and resources I originally produced for a PTI event at Downing College as part of their summer residential.

Over those years I've spoken to people at the start of their teaching careers, who have then become some of the more influential and creative people in our geography subject community, who have shared their practice and have important roles in teaching and the wider education sphere. It's a real privilege to be able to do that.

Fortunately the A11 and A14 were running clear - although a lorry fire later blocked the road which is always a risk.

Later in the day, there was a meeting of the moderation team for the GA's Primary Geography Quality Mark applications that were received this year. I have an allocation to start moderating and the process will take place over the next 8 weeks or so...
