Folkington's

The other day I went out for lunch at the very nice Almonry in Ely.

I decided to have a ginger beer. It was made by Folkington's. And it was very tasty. A decent hot ginger beer. I looked online to see if I could see who stocked it, as I've tried quite a few different brands over the years, and ended up on their website.

They are sharing their values on the website.

The information they share is actually really helpful as it shows how even such a straightforward product as a canned drink has a range of geographical connections and there are decisions to make when sourcing it.

e.g. the ginger root comes from West Africa.

There are connections made to the Sustainable Development Goals, and the NOVA classification of foods.

The product is also B Corp Certified.

Handy for my Food for Thought topic with Year 7.
