Food Security: Underground farms and Farm Urban

At the weekend, The Guardian shared news of another underground farming project offering "subterranean salad".

This has been tried in several other locations before, including below London, where micro-greens were grown for restaurants.

This particular project was being trialled in the Boulby potash mines up on the NE coast.

Via this article, I was directed to the work of Farm Urban, who are based in Liverpool.

They grow sustainable super-food in vertical farms across the UK and donate everything they grow to people in or at risk of food poverty.
