Talking 'bout a revolution #3: A truly National curriculum?

The start of the new academic year will finally see the emergence of the next phase of the new Geography curriculum for England - hopefully...

We have been waiting a while for this.

Earlier this week the Government released a research briefing on Arts and cultural education.

It included this text:

The government has confirmed that it will publish a revised national curriculum in 2027, for first teaching in 2028.

The page on the House of Commons Library included this text:

Provisions in the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Act 2026 will mean that in future, academies and free schools will also have to follow the national curriculum.

Independent fee-paying schools do not have to follow the national curriculum.
