New Orleans - 10 years on...

This time ten years ago, a hurricane called Katrina (the last one to have that name) was heading for New Orleans.
It turned out to be a dramatic incident which I taught about at the time, particularly with the 6th form groups who were exploring meteorological hazards at the time.

A useful open source website about the teaching of HURRICANES.
This has been put together by Dr Phil Wood working with colleagues from Beaumont Leys school in Leicestershire.
There are resources provided for three different abilities on the impact of Hurricane Katrina.
