Accessing Census data

Thanks to Catherine Brookes on the OCR Geography AS/A Level Facebook group for alerting me to the fact that on the 12th of May the old Data Explorer / Neighbourhood Statistics website section was closed down, and the functions moved to NOMIS.

Datashine is still available to perform some of the functions that this site did, but you may want to check the new website and the workflow through to the data you need if you were intending to use the old one any time soon.

Where does Downham Market end?

This could equally go for any town. When does the urban area end, and where does the influence of the town end?

New GeoVation challenge - neighbourhoods

Over the last few years, the Geography Collective have enjoyed success in the GeoVation challenge, an opportunity for groups to get funding for a geographical innovation using OS mapping.

The latest challenge is on the theme of NEIGHBOURHOODS. There is over one hundred thousand pounds available for projects which are aimed at supporting the improvement of neighbourhoods.
